Family Homeschool Baseball is a Christ-centered, family-oriented Homeschool baseball league based out of Friendswood, TX. Children from ages 5 to 16 are invited to come practice their baseball skills or learn how to play if they have no previous experience in baseball. This is a co-ed league, with the exception of the senior division. With an emphasis on fellowship and teamwork, we strive to make the baseball experience one filled with fun and learning instead of an attitude of cut-throat competitiveness. Family participation is required to help the league run – please see our roles and responsibilities page for more info.
Also, please note that every child is required to have an adult present at the fields during the practices and games to take responsibility for them (i.e. no drop offs). This is necessary for the safety of our children, and the main intent is to have someone who can make decisions for a child in an emergency situation. We have had situations in the past where a child required medical attention, and we couldn’t find their parents.
2018 Season Details
Here are the schedules for the 2018 season.
There will be a pre-season skills day, usually in January, where the HCYA coaches and players teach some basic skills before the season begins. This is a good opportunity to meet your other teammates and to learn some good skills from older, more experienced players. Please see the events page and keep an eye on your email for the specifics for this season.
Division Info – Dates, Times and Cost
Our season generally runs for 12 or 13 weeks starting early in the year (late January/early February). We have 5 divisions and all times below consist of a practice followed by a game. The first couple weeks are practice only. The rest of the season will have a practice followed immediately by a game. Please see the events page for specific dates and times for the current or upcoming season.

Prices above are the fees for normal registration, which ends two weeks before the first practice. Ending registration at this time allows us to order uniforms in time for the first game. While payment is appreciated at the time of registration, it is not necessary to secure your spot. As long as you complete the checkout process by the registration cutoff, you will not get charged for late registration. If you can’t pay in full by the first practice, please contact us to work something out. If the division isn’t full after normal registration, late registration will be open until the first practice at an additional $40 per registration. The extra fees cover the setup costs we incur for ordering just a few uniforms at a time. Also, you might not have your uniform in time for the first game if you register late.
Equipment and Uniforms
Many people ask what their kids should wear and what they are required to purchase. For dress, a hat and jersey are included in the registration fees and your children should wear those for every game. You can purchase baseball pants and cleats at any local sporting goods store, but they aren’t required – tennis shoes and any other kind of shorts or pants are just fine. For equipment, the only item you really need to supply is a glove. You may bring your own bat, helmet, catcher’s gear, etc. if you’d like, but those items will be provided in the team equipment bag. We often do have some left over equipment (gloves, bats, etc.) that is available for free, so please contact us if you’d like see what we have.
Games and practices are held at Frankie Carter Randolph Park, which is the most centrally located playing field for families coming from the greater Clear Lake area, which is located on the south side of Houston, TX. There are two fields located at the park (A and B) – please see the table above for the specific field for each division.
